Caddy / Olds Batwing Air Cleaner - For years rod and custom owners have tried to remain connected to the past by expressing themselves through their choice of components for their rides. Nostalgia is as much a part of rodding as lowered cars. One item that has remained a favorite among car builders is the Caddy or Olds Batwing air cleaner design. Bitchin Products resolved that problem over 20 years ago when they produced the cast aluminum air cleaner that accepts an easy obtained over the counter air cleaner element with your choice of three different tops to match the theme of your ride. It comes to you with an as cast finish ready to be sanded, painted, polished, powder coated, etc. You can also have us polish your air cleaner with a slightly additional lead time. Whichever finish or combination of finishes you choose, it'll look great on your ride's engine.

This is a cored casting so the body is one piece and, the top is a separate piece as is the polished curved front piece. Each air cleaner comes with a top of your choice - either a plain smooth, finned or one with sculptured flames - and a 1/4-20 stud and stainless steel knurled nut to hold everything together. The back underside of the air cleaner body is cupped to allow plenty of room for rear mounted distributors. After a lot of research they decided that the original Caddy / Olds ones (as well as today's off shore reproductions) were too large, so they downsized it so that it compliments your engine instead of covering it.

Dimensions: Width – 16 3/8”, Depth (front to back) – 14 ¾”, Height – 5”, Depth (center hole to rear edge) – 8 ½”. The carb opening fits all modern carbs with a 5 1/8" neck. The "as cast" air cleaners come with the body and cover as cast ready to sand blast and paint, powder coat, etc. and the front face plate polished. The polished ones come with the body, cover and face plate polished. Polished one are not always in stock and may take two weeks to get polished.

Bitchin Products closed its doors in 2011 when its owner retired and O'Brien Truckers acquired their patterns, core boxes and tooling so that their aluminum products would continue to be produced here in the USA and remain available to nostalgia loving rod and custom enthusiasts.
